Coffee poached pears

Ingredients

I wanted to make a sugar free snack and was actually too lazy to pour the left over coffee out of the pot so I just put the pears in with it. Serendipity at its best.

I wanted to make a sugar free snack and was actually too lazy to pour the left over coffee out of the pot so I just put the pears in with it. Serendipity at its best.

  • Pears
  • one cup of black coffee
  • cinnamon stick
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons of molasses

Method

Peel the pears and place them in a deep pot with the coffee and cinnamon stick and then cover with water. Mix in the molasses and garam masala. Bring to boil and then let simmer on the lowest temp for a few hours. I think they would be really nice served with some double cream but we didn't have any.
