Spicy Red Cabbage Salad

Cabbage always looks so beautiful but then its hard to know what to cook with it. Its full of sulphur. Sulphur is needed for the production of keratin, a protein which is found in all cells of the body and is essential for the formation of bone, cartilage and tendons. It is also needed for digestion, elimination and bile secretion as well as production of the hormone insulin, which keeps blood sugar levels in balance.

Method

Slice the cabbage and onions finely.
Peel and smash your garlic.
Heat the oil in a pan and place the seeds in, wait till start to pop then add the onions. Stir for 3 mins till nice and soft.
Add in the cabbage and keep cooking on medium for about 7 minutes.
Serve with fresh parsley.

  • 1/4 red cabbage
  • 1tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 x red onion
  • olive oil
  • fresh flat leaf parsley to serve
  • 3 pieces of organic garlic
