Hojaldres de Astorga

Spanish Astorga puffs, tenderly sweet. The puff of Astorga are delicious squares very tender and juicy.

Method

Cut the pastry into squares of 5 x 5 cm and with help of an apple corer or something similar, take a circle off the center.

This is necessary to better absorb the syrup.

Place in a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake (in a previously pre heated oven) at 180 º C for 20 minutes or until golden and dry.

In a saucepan place the water with sugar, honey and lemon.

Bring to boil for a few minutes and then dip, the pastries in the hot syrup, leaving a few minutes per side until they are wet.

Drain and place on a wire rack.

  • •Lemon juice, (from 2 lemons)
  • •Water, 50 ml
  • •Sugar, 50 gr
  • •Puff pastry, 1 sheet (400 gr)
