Torta de Anís

Spanish bread/cake with lots of flavor. Rich, tender, fluffy and tasty.

Method

In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar,aniseed and yeast, mix to combine.

Add the olive oil, eggs, milk and anisette, mix until getting a soft dough.

Cover the dough and let it stand 2 hours to rise.

In a floured surface, punch down the dough and form a round loaf.

Place the loaf on a lined baking tray.

Brush with the eggwash and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake in a previously pre-heated oven at 180°C 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Ingredients

  • •Flour, 500 gr
  • •Eggs, 2
  • •Milk (lukewarm), 100 ml
  • •Instant yeast, 2 envelopes
  • •Olive oil, 2 tbs
  • •Aniseed, 20 gr
  • •Sugar, 130 gr
  • •Anisette, 50 ml
  • •Egg yolk (beaten with 2 tbs milk), eggwash
  • •Sugar (for dusting)
