Samosas

Samosas

I thought I would try making these for a little afternoon snack but ended up making them big I think they would be nice either way but smaller ones would be great with a few beers with friends.

Method

Pastry
add the vege oil to the flour and some water and mix well together i just used my hands add more water if needed. Dust an area with flour for kneading and knead away til its nice and smooth wrap in cling wrap and leave.

Filling
peel and chop your potatoes into nice bite size pieces and boil till soft. Brown mince with some of the onion and remove. Add some oil to a pan and throw your mustard seeds in and fry til they pop and then add the rest of your onion fry till soft and brown. Add tumeric, garlic, green chilli's and chilli powder and fry for a couple of seconds. Add your potatoes fry for a bit then add your mince mix alltogether and turn off to let cool.
Get your pastry and break off into chunks and roll out to a circle make them whatever size you think. I did some big and some small just to see cut down the middle and wet edges with water add some filling to one side and place other side on top and pinch edges together to seal. Deep or shallow fry in some oil then serve and eat yummy!
