Baked Fennel - Ready for anything

Baked fennel is good on its own, in a pasta sauce or good to be thrown in soups for a nice vegie stock base. I keep finding a new use for it every day, and its gloriously simple to prepare. Be careful you don't forget it is in the oven.
Method
cut away the green stalks and leaves and the dirty outside of the fennel
cut into bit sized pieces and place into a small baking tray
cover with rice bran oil and whole garlic cloves
bake in oven for about 30 mins at 200 C
