SHEREE’S DINNER PARTY FOR MS

I wanted to know more about the Big Dinner Party for MS next month so I spoke to Sheree, a young lady with MS, who is holding her own dinner party to help out the cause.
And it sounds fabulous. She’s having a ‘Pink Lunch’ with 15 friends featuring an entrée, main and dessert.
Why pink? Well pink is her favourite colour so the lunch will be themed with pink food and pink decorations. Her main is going to be a chicken stew and her dessert, a strawberry Pavlova and Cherry Ripe ‘pink’ cheesecake.
And she’s hoping each of her guests will bring around $25 each to donate to the MS Society while having a great meal for people living with MS.
Sheree herself was diagnosed with MS at the beginning of 2010 and had no idea what MS was when she was first diagnosed. It was just six-months from experiencing different MS symptoms to being diagnosed. For Sheree it started with numbness and tingling in both legs and for her ‘something felt wrong’. She went to her local GP who said that something more serious was happening to her and referred her to a neurologist who finally diagnosed her with MS.
Sheree wanted me to help her spread the word about Big Dinner Party – as the more people who know about MS, more awareness can be generated in the community and the quicker we can help find a cure for this cruel disease.
MS is the most common neurological disease affecting thousands of young Australians and attacks a person’s brain and spinal cord causing irreparable damage. And sadly there is no known cure so for people like Sheree, MS is a lifelong journey.
Help people with MS and host your own dinner party for MS next month. It doesn’t have to be a three course meal – it can be a BBQ, cheese and cocktails or simply getting takeaway and having a candlelit dinner with your closest friends and family. Use your imagination and create the ‘dinner party’ you want!
Simply register your dinner party on the website www.bigdinnerparty.com.au and start fundraising!
