Imagine someone else imagining for you!

CMW: Who are you?
Joanna Reymond: I was born in France in my grandparents hotel and when I was still little my parents came to Australia, the land of opportunity and now have one of Australia's best restaurants, Jacques Reymond Restaurant! With food in my blood I wanted to become a chef, but Papa wisely said it was too hard. I worked in hospitality for a long time and now teach Pilates and run Mum's Lunch.

I love cooking and sharing food with loved ones and helping others understand more about good food and nutrition and mind, body balance helping to create a happier and healthier populace

CMW: What inspired you to create Mum's Lunch?
JR: Quite simply I was preparing our lunches one morning and was stuck for inspiration, it dawned on me that many must have the same problem, even more so without my background and passion for food! So I decided to try and help others with some meal plans and recipes for healthy, nutritious and delicious lunches.

It is also a way I can contribute to reducing our growing obesity and diabetes crisis through helping others gain an understanding of the importance of preparing and eating fresh ingredients rather than foods that have preservatives or are processed.

CMW: How does it work?
JR: Mum’s Lunch is an online subscription, each Friday you receive in your inbox the week’s meal plans and a shopping list to keep it as easy as possible for you. The link back to the website gives you access to the ever-growing library of recipes and also all previous meal plans.

CMW: What has the reaction been so far?
JR: It has been wonderful, very encouraging with many commending the great idea and loving our recipes and ideas. It’s been extremely encouraging the support and love of what we are doing!

CMW: How important is it do you think to connect with your children through cooking?
JR: I grew up cooking in the kitchen with mum and on Sunday’s with Papa. It is extremely important as a great opportunity for quality time spent together while imparting a vital life skill. It also teaches children about food and how it works. I tend to find those that cook and cook with their children are happier and healthier.

CMW: What do you think of all of the advertising around for junk food? What is your advice to mothers around guiding their kids to eat healthy?
JR: I find it very frustrating advertising around junk food, especially when targeted towards children, it certainly makes it difficult for parents to then explain to the children that that food is not good for you and shouldn’t be eaten and why, especially if their friends are eating it.

In my experience however children who are given good food that tastes great are uninterested in junk food because essentially, it doesn’t taste great!

CMW: Where to from here for Mum's Lunch?
JR: That is a good question! There are many opportunities, we are starting to work with a nutritionist, Dorota Trupp who also runs a cooking school with her husband Walter. We are looking at a Mum’s Lunch product line as well as getting some video cooking demonstrations. We’re keeping very busy!!

Mum’s Lunch is an online subscription delivering weekly to your inbox, we offer balanced, nutritious and delicious meal plans with recipes to fill the lunchbox and keep the kids happy and healthy.

Featuring fun and tasty lunch suggestions, kids will no longer be swapping for someone else's or throwing it out. With morning and afternoon snack also included and a balance of fruit, vegetables and dairy in each meal plan you can be assured everyone is receiving the right nutrients to get them through a busy school day.

What Cook My Way loves about Mum’s Lunch: We embrace this idea of subscribing to ideas and inspiration, yet you still do the cooking yourself.
