Gastronomy is seeking an experienced and creative head chef.

YOU will be a head chef having worked for prestigious caterers, restaurants and hotels. You will be flexible and adaptable and open to working in a fast and often changing environment. You will have a high level of customer service skills, in catering - unlike restaurants - clients will often walk into the kitchen and discuss menus and recipes with you.

WE are a premium, multi award-winning caterer specialising in corporate, event and high-end institutional clientele. We are exceptionally organised and well resourced with our head office and main kitchen based in Alexandria, with kitchens also located at UNSW and the CBD. We use Sydney's best suppliers, make our food from scratch and cater in some of the best venues in Sydney.

THE POSITION is full time and based in Alexandria. You will be running our main kitchen, managing staff and suppliers as well as preparation onsite and working offsite at events. Although this role involves a lot of Monday-Friday work, you will be required to work nights and weekends - the Head Chef will look after Gastronomy's important and VIP events.

MINIMUM criteria

* 10+ years as a fully qualified chef
* 5+ years working in restaurants with at least one chefs hat, Michelin star or similar
OR 5+ years working in a premium catering company (Such as Alison Price or a caterer such as ourselves) or a top 5 star hotel
* Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia
